1. TIGR Matrix


TIGR Matrix Surgical Mesh is the world’s 1st long-term resorbable synthetic matrix. It offers unique regenerative properties through gradual dual-stage degradation, full resorption and collagen deposition. Paired with ease of use, TIGR is a significant step forward in surgical mesh technology. TIGR Matrix uses polymers (glycolide, lactide and trimethylene

carbonate) well known in the surgical community for its resorbability and biocompatibility since the 1970s. Its components are therefore very well documented and clinically proven. TIGR Matrix is designed to promote soft tissue remodeling in response to the increased mechanical load. It is strong for 6-9 months and vanished in 3 years. This is achieved by the combination of fast and slow resorbing fibres used in the TIGR Matrix Mesh.

TIGR Matrix Mesh Technology

After the post-surgical healing phase, the increasing mechanical compliance results in a gradual transition of load from the mesh to the patient’s tissue. The TIGR Matrix macroporous structure (sized 1-1.5mm) is designed to permit tissue integration and remodelling. On average, 24-36 months after the TIGR Mesh implantation, the TIGR fibres degrade leaving a collagen structure replacing the mesh providing new autogenous tissue support.

TIGR®Matrix Surgical Mesh received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2010 and has the CE mark since 2011.
